We Empower Kenyans.
This is How.
Our work is simple: we are empowering Kenyans living in difficult situations. We do this through clean water projects for communities without ready access to water, livestock management training to increase income for Maasai herders, organizing networks of support for individuals most in need (specifically, widows), and by selling fair-trade beaded jewelry handmade by local Kenyan artisans.
Clean Water (WASH) Projects
Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects are critical to improve living situations for women, children, & communities in our work region. Our process, which carefully allocates time & invests in the people we serve, has proven effective.

Livestock As A Business (LAB)
Our Livestock as Business (LAB) program is a multi-year training and micro-loan initiative that helps communities better manage their herds & invest in their cattle. With improved incomes, communities can begin to build their futures.

Hope For Widows
Recent legislation has again challenged living conditions for women, leaving many feeling trapped. Hope for Widows is an initiative in which widows are supported through community organizing & resource sharing. In doing this, we are actively bringing hope to those who feel hopeless.

Beaded Handicrafts
Beads are a visible representation of Maasai heritage, culture, and expression. WILK has its own workshop where local Kenyan artisans make beaded jewelry. We sell this jewelry online, allowing US citizens to embrace the beauty which has endured for generations.
